Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson honored the memory of Benjamin Satterley, a well-known figure in professional wrestling, after his passing on Sunday at the age of 40. Satterley, who performed as Adrian Neville in WWE and later as Pac in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), was a significant part of the wrestling community.
Satterley joined AEW in 2019, becoming one of its pioneering wrestlers. Over his career, he secured numerous championships both in AEW and WWE, earning respect and admiration from fans and peers alike.
Reflecting on Satterley’s impact, Johnson shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing condolences to the Satterley family. He emphasized the global nature of professional wrestling and the close-knit bond shared among wrestlers worldwide.
“I was just so sorry to hear this news,” Johnson began. He added, “As global as professional wrestling is, we’re still a very tight-knit unit. We all share the same DNA – our love and passion for the squared circle. When we lose one of our own, especially someone so young and talented, it really hurts.”
Addressing AEW’s Tony Khan, QT Marshall, and the entire locker room, Johnson offered his sympathies for their loss. He conveyed his best wishes to the Satterley family, hoping they find strength during this difficult time.
Johnson is a board member of TKO, WWE’s parent company. WWE paid tribute to Satterley with a graphic before “Monday Night Raw.” Additionally, AEW planned a special “Dynamite” tribute to honor Satterley on Wednesday night.
Satterley’s unexpected passing occurred in Illinois, just hours after his performance at the All Out event. He leaves behind a legacy as a talented and beloved wrestler.
