A surprising event took place at a Nebraska gas station when a dog reportedly fired a shotgun inside a truck. This incident occurred on a Saturday, causing injuries to a woman in a nearby vehicle. The information comes from local reports citing Nebraska authorities.
The situation unfolded shortly after midday when a vehicle arrived at Short Stop, a gas station and convenience store located at 2002 Avenue I, according to KNOP. The Scottsbluff Police Department reported that the dog stayed in the vehicle after the owner went inside the store. Another passenger exited the vehicle but remained near the front passenger-side door.
During this time, the dog reportedly moved in the rear seat area and interacted with a shotgun inside the vehicle. The firearm, which had a live round chambered, discharged when triggered, as authorities reported.

The blast went through the vehicle’s front passenger-side door, exited the parking lot, and hit a woman who was stopped at a nearby traffic light. Police confirmed that a shotgun pellet hit the top of her right arm, which was resting out the window, according to KNOP.
The woman’s injuries were not viewed as life-threatening. She was taken to Regional West Medical Center by a family member for treatment, as reported by the outlet.
No further injuries were noted. Initially, police thought the incident involved a BB gun, but officers later discovered it was a shotgun, the outlet revealed.
The Scottsbluff Police Department is investigating the accident further. Investigators noticed damage to the vehicle’s passenger-side door that matched the effect of a shotgun blast, KNOP stated.
