New York Yankees pitcher Cam Schlittler delivered an outstanding performance both on the field and online. On Friday, the 25-year-old struck out a career-high 13 batters over six shutout innings, securing a 5-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds at Yankee Stadium.
Schlittler, originally from Walpole, Massachusetts, first encountered criticism from a Boston Red Sox fan during the AL Wild Card series last season. That night, Schlittler dominated by striking out 12 over eight scoreless innings, but the vocal opposition from Boston fans persisted.
Following his recent win, Schlittler addressed one particular fan’s repeated insults on social media. He shared the messages sent by the fan, identified on Instagram as ‘Kyle_Lynch11,’ capturing them in a screen recording shared to his Instagram Story. The post was humorously captioned ‘Rent Free’ alongside laughing emojis.
The exchange began during the Wild Card Game, with the fan calling Schlittler a ‘clown’ and continuing the remarks through October, November, and into March and April. Among the messages was a reminder to ‘Never forget where u came from,’ and derogatory terms like ‘p—y’ repeatedly appeared.

Finally responding to Lynch’s taunts, Schlittler advised him to ‘Stop glazing lil bro.’ Despite further comments predicting a rough day against the Reds, Schlittler’s impressive performance crushed such predictions.
After his successful outing, Schlittler’s ERA dropped to an impressive 1.71, an American League-leading figure. He holds an 8-3 record with 109 strikeouts in 95 innings, effectively using his fastball, sinker, and cutter to overpower opponents.
Schlittler has also revealed to reporters that some animosity he faces includes serious threats from Red Sox fans aimed at him and his family.
