A search for a missing California grandmother ended in tragedy when her body was discovered in a parked car. Her son now faces murder charges.

Emmanuel Wesley, a 23-year-old from Santa Ana, is accused of murdering his 61-year-old mother, Theresa Jones. Allegations suggest Wesley shot her twice in the back while she was in her car at the Fullerton Police Department on July 4. He is then said to have moved her to the passenger seat and driven away.

The disappearance raised concerns on July 7 when Jones failed to pick up her grandchild. Family members couldn’t reach her, prompting them to alert authorities.

Discovery and Investigation

On July 11, officers located Jones’ body in her vehicle at a church parking lot in Fullerton. Surveillance footage reportedly captured the incident outside the police department. It showed Jones arriving with Wesley in the car. Shortly after, Wesley allegedly moved her body and drove away.

“The death of any human being is a tragedy,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer remarked, emphasizing the tragic nature of a son killing his mother. “We will pursue justice for Ms. Jones and her loved ones,” he stated.
