Bryan Kohberger, convicted of fatally stabbing four University of Idaho students, is challenging key elements of his case. He has requested the disqualification of the presiding judge and a change of venue as he tries to retract his guilty plea.
On Thursday, Kohberger’s newly appointed attorney, Gregory Rauch, filed motions for both requests. These efforts follow Kohberger’s first-degree murder conviction.
During his sentencing, which occurred on July 23, 2025, at the Ada County Courthouse in Boise, Idaho, Kohberger claimed innocence. He accused his defense team of prompting a false confession.
The case remains open to developments. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
