Andrade El Idolo faced a surprise attack at All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) Grand Slam in Mexico. After securing his place in the Casino Gauntlet match at All In, MJF ambushed him.

During Wednesday night’s AEW programming, MJF returned and assaulted Andrade, who had become the No. 1 entrant for the match. MJF left Andrade injured and announced his intention to compete for the second entrant spot. The Casino Gauntlet match winner will earn an AEW World Championship shot.

On social media, Andrade shared a photo showing a severe head wound from the attack. He mentioned potential time off from wrestling due to the injury.

“Hi everyone and especially Las Señoritas! I’ve just landed back in Miami and went straight to the doctor,” he wrote. “I hadn’t felt well since Wednesday after Grand Slam, but I had commitments in Canada with MLP.”

“I’ll keep you posted, but I might be out for a few days or weeks. It’s nothing serious. Take care! But… I have one question?”

MJF took to social media, showing confidence after the attack. “HAHAHAHAHAHA How you know? OH I KNOW HOW IT HAPPENED!” he posted.

Andrade revealed he needed six stitches. The rivalry between Andrade and MJF has grown since MJF’s loose association with the Don Callis Family. Their feud continued as MJF reclaimed the AEW World Championship from Darby Allin at Double or Nothing.

After MJF lost the title to Kenny Omega, he returned with his Triple B title, claiming it as the true championship. Despite this setback, MJF is determined to reach All In for another title opportunity.
