Wyoming Voters to Decide Candidates for U.S. House Seat

Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-Wyo.) asks questions during a House Select Subcommittee on Jan. 6 to discuss the investigation into the DNC and RNC pipe bombs on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.

On Tuesday, Wyoming residents are set to cast their votes to select the Republican and Democratic candidates who will vie for the state’s singular U.S. House seat. This decision follows Rep. Harriet Hageman’s (R-Wyo.) pursuit of a Senate role, leaving her House seat available.

The Republican side presents a competitive race, with a notable group of candidates stepping into the spotlight. Former Superintendent Jillian Barlow, current Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray, and President of the State Senate Bo Biteman are all contenders. Further adding to the mix are military veterans Kevin Christensen and Richard Dodson, conservative activist Steve Friess, policy adviser David Giralt, businessman Reid Rasner, and former State Representative John Romero-Martinez.

Chuck Gray has drawn attention for previously advocating unproven claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 election. Notably, he took a personal trip to Arizona to assess a controversial audit of the election results in 2021. Gray secured his position as Secretary of State with notable support from former President Trump in the 2022 Republican primary. However, the former president has yet to endorse any candidate in this current race.

On the Democratic side, the primary is between former State Senate Minority Leader Lisa F. Kinney and Elena del Real.

The polls for this crucial decision will close at 9 p.m. EDT.
