Republican Senator Roger Marshall from Kansas has condemned Dr. Anthony Fauci, following the release of text messages related to COVID-19 vaccines. These messages suggest Fauci had concerns about recommending vaccines for pregnant women while publicly advocating their usage.

These revelations have led the Senate Health Committee to refer Fauci to the Justice Department, seeking to investigate the matter further. During a segment on “Fox & Friends,” Marshall emphasized the need for an independent investigation with prosecutorial powers, which only a special counsel can provide.

“All Congress can do is expose the truth or try to expose the truth, which is hard to do when a guy takes the 5th 111 times,” said Marshall.

He suggested the possibility of a full commission similar to the 9/11 investigation, noting that such a decision rests with the attorney general.

Marshall, a retired obstetrician, has frequently opposed Fauci regarding the origins of COVID-19 and vaccination policies. The current controversy centers on Fauci’s concerns revealed in a series of text messages from January 2021. In these messages, Fauci discusses possible risks of mRNA vaccines affecting pregnant women.

He wrote about concerns arising from symptoms like cytokine storms and fever after the second vaccine dose, potentially leading to miscarriages during the first trimester.

Yet, Fauci publicly stated soon after that there were no “red flags” related to vaccination in pregnant women. He emphasized the importance of vaccination for pregnant women or those planning to conceive, citing severe adverse outcomes of COVID-19 during pregnancy.

Efforts to reach Fauci’s legal representation for comment were unsuccessful, and responses remain pending.
