Cassie Ventura’s Legal Battle and Testimony in Diddy Trial

Singer Cassie Ventura left the United States after providing crucial testimony in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial. Documents reveal that Cassie, who spent four days testifying as a key witness during Diddy’s sex crimes trial, has been involved in an ongoing legal case with former escort Clayton Howard. She filed a motion to move the case from California to New York, where similar claims against Diddy are already pending.

Howard’s lawsuit accused Diddy and Cassie of “sexual exploitation, trafficking, and abuse” over a decade. Cassie’s motion cited convenience and pre-existing cases in New York as reasons to relocate the trial from California, where neither she nor other involved parties reside. She highlighted how many facts relevant to the case took place in New York City.

Cassie revealed she received a $20 million settlement after accusing Diddy of sexual abuse in a lawsuit filed in November 2023. The matter was settled within a day. In court, Cassie claimed she resides outside the U.S. and found New York a more convenient venue due to her legal team based there.

During the trial, Cassie, a mother of three with her husband Alex Fine, provided distressing accounts of abuse she suffered when involved with Diddy. The U.S. Attorney’s Office presented photographic evidence of abuse instances in the Southern District of New York. Cassie recounted how Diddy coerced her into participating in exploitative acts and detailed incidents of physical violence.

In May 2025, she testified about being forced into “freak offs,” scenarios she described as Diddy pushing her into engaging in acts with a male escort. Video evidence was shown to the jury, depicting Diddy assaulting her at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016. Cassie recalled enduring severe physical aggression while attempting to end their relationship.

The trial started on May 12 and concluded on July 2. Though Diddy was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges, he faced conviction on two counts related to transporting individuals for prostitution. He received a sentence of over four years to be served at FCI Fort Dix, where he has been held since September 2024. His release is anticipated in February 2028.
