Zachary Levi has shared his reasons for leaving California for Texas. The 45-year-old actor moved from Los Angeles to a ranch near Austin in 2017. His decision ties into personal and professional goals.
Moving from California to Texas
During an interview with Fox News Digital, Levi called California a “failed state”. He expressed deep concerns about the state’s conditions, both politically and environmentally.
“I grew up in California, I love California, it is a failed state,” Levi stated.
Levi aims to rethink how the entertainment industry functions. He dreams of establishing an artist-owned studio to eliminate unnecessary middlemen.
Building a New Vision
In Texas, Levi is realizing his vision by creating Wyldwood Studios. This development in Bastrop County combines film production facilities with residential and wellness areas. The project reflects his desire to build a self-sustained community offering more than just work opportunities.
The first stages of this $100 million project are set to open by 2027.
Trading California for a Bigger Mission
Levi acknowledged leaving California meant losing close connections and the favorable climate. Yet, he felt the need to follow a higher calling to contribute positively to society. Living in Austin, he deals with diverse weather but finds it manageable.
