The brightest stars in women’s basketball will converge in Chicago for the WNBA All-Star weekend. The highlight of the three-day event is the All-Star Game at the United Center on Saturday. The WNBA Live fan fest at McCormick Place is expected to welcome 30,000 visitors.
Fans kicked off the festivities with a special ‘Line ‘Em Up’ event at Foster Park on the South Side. The courts received fresh paint, ready for over 75 girls who participated. UIC women’s basketball coach Ashleen Bracey guided young players as they honed their skills, each dribbling two balls during the event.
The fan fest at McCormick Place set the stage for basketball enthusiasts. Paige Bueckers interacted with fans before joining other All-Stars on the orange carpet. A giant WNBA basketball greeted visitors at the entrance.
Jonquel Jones, A’ja Wilson, Paige Bueckers, and Caitlin Clark were among the stars featured on the orange carpet. Fans gathered to catch glimpses of their favorite players, mascots, and team members as they arrived for the festivities.
A standout moment included Jessica Shepard signing autographs, while Nneka Ogwumike and Gabby Williams posed for photos. WNBA-inspired outfits were on display, showcasing the unique fashion brought out for the occasion.
A signed Caitlin Clark jersey drew attention, and the championship trophy added to the event’s allure. Those attending had the chance to see players up close, such as Olivia Miles mingling with fans.
