President Donald Trump announced plans to significantly decrease joint military drills with South Korea. He mentioned the expenses associated with these drills and expressed his desire to avoid conveying a message he deemed “totally inappropriate and hostile” toward North Korea.
Additionally, Trump criticized South Korea for its lack of assistance with Iran-related issues. Speaking about his decision, he emphasized the positive relations he has developed with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
The directive was given to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to implement these changes.
