Trump Declares Ceasefire with Iran Ended Amid Defense Strikes

President Donald Trump has announced the end of a tentative ceasefire with Iran after a recent intense bombing campaign. This decision follows Iranian attacks on commercial shipping.

During a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte in Ankara, Trump said, “For me, it’s over. I don’t want to deal with them anymore, they’re scum.” He expressed doubts about the value of future talks with Iran, labeling them “liars” and “cheats.”

The comments come amid stalled negotiations after both sides signed a memorandum of understanding. This agreement had allowed traffic to restart in the Strait of Hormuz.

However, Iran recently attacked at least three commercial vessels in the strategic waterway. In response, the U.S. military struck over 80 targets in Iran.

President Trump made these remarks during a bilateral meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the NATO Summit in Ankara, Turkey.
