An Uzbek truck driver, Bekhzod Asrarov, 42, is at the center of a tragic event in Ohio. He allegedly drove into the back of another vehicle on Interstate 71, which led to the death of Tobias “Toby” Forsythe. Forsythe, 21, was a promising soccer goalkeeper for the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.

Reports indicate that Asrarov entered the U.S. in 2024 through the diversity visa lottery program. Despite holding a commercial driver’s license from Ohio, he struggled to communicate with the state troopers using Google Translate at the scene. Eyewitnesses allege he attempted to destroy several electronic devices, including a dash camera and his phones.

Tobias Forsythe was known for his dedication on the field. As an economics major at UMass Lowell, he played previously at Ashland University and Shawnee State. UMass Lowell’s athletic director, Lynn Coutts, expressed the department’s deep sorrow over his loss. Forsythe’s coach, Kyle Zenoni, praised his commitment and determination in sports and life.
