Total Solar Eclipse Occurs Across Europe and Asia

A total solar eclipse will be visible on Wednesday, stretching across parts of Europe and Asia. This eclipse marks the first of its kind since the Great American Eclipse on April 8, 2024. The path of totality will span over Greenland, Iceland, and Spain.

Retired shepherd Joaquin Tapioles, who is also a self-taught astronomer, was observed dismantling one of his telescopes on July 22 in San Agustin del Pozo, Spain. The event is drawing interest from both professional and amateur astronomers, eager to witness this astronomical phenomenon.

The eclipse presents a unique opportunity for many to experience the complete obscuration of the sun by the moon. Areas positioned along the path of totality will experience this event, offering a short period of darkness during daylight hours.
