Satirical news site The Onion has launched its spoof of the conspiracy platform InfoWars, featuring a fictitious video of its founder, Alex Jones, purportedly dying. This move comes during their ongoing legal efforts to gain control of the media empire.

For over a year, The Onion has been attempting to take command of InfoWars after Jones was ordered to pay more than $1 billion to families of Sandy Hook victims for falsely labeling the shooting a hoax. On Thursday, the outlet released its first parody video without having acquired the platform. The episode, titled “ALEX JONES IS DEAD—Real InfoWars Livestream,” featured comedian Tim Heidecker mimicking Jones as he introduced audiences to the site.

We have leaked video now revealing that Alex Jones uh popped like a balloon in his car two months ago, Heidecker stated.

Heidecker goes further saying, That’s right folks. Alex Jones uh, the Alex Jones that we have come to know over the years uh is dead. The video then transitions to a scene with a black vehicle and an unidentifiable individual inside, which subsequently explodes. The video carries a content warning due to its graphic nature and explicit language.

There’s a violent sudden impact from inside the car, essentially the uh body of Alex Jones uh disintegrating instantly and exploding out, Heidecker described.

Jones has not addressed the parody but continues to post on X, providing recent episodes of his The Alex Jones Show via his website, Alex Jones Live. Newsweek has emailed Jones for a comment outside of regular business hours. Updates on this story are expected as it develops.
