Teenagers Injured in South Side Chicago Shooting

Two teenage boys were injured when a gunman opened fire in an apartment near Auburn Park lagoon on Chicago’s South Side. According to police, the shooting happened when an unidentified person fired several shots from a hallway into an apartment on the 400 block of West Winneconna Parkway around 4 p.m.

An 18-year-old man was critically injured after being shot in the neck, clavicle, and back. He was transported to UChicago Medicine. A 13-year-old boy was shot in both calves and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital. His condition is reported as stable.

Calumet Area detectives are actively investigating the incident. No further details have been released by the police at this time.
