The former NFL player and Super Bowl champion, Jordan Devey, has died by suicide, his family confirmed. Devey was a member of the New England Patriots team that won Super Bowl XLIX. His family shared this tragic news through a GoFundMe campaign, acknowledging the challenging and painful time they are facing.

According to the GoFundMe post, Devey left behind a significant impact in his community, especially at Eagle High School in Idaho where he coached. He was known for his unwavering dedication to helping others, volunteering numerous hours to coach both his children’s teams and high school athletes. Many players regarded him as a mentor, friend, and role model. Beyond sports, Devey was involved in his church, providing support and counsel to those in need.

Jordan was a devoted husband to Linsey and a loving father to their four children. Linsey posted on Instagram, sharing heartfelt memories on what would have been their 15th wedding anniversary. She expressed the family’s deep love and sense of loss, highlighting their shared memories and the qualities of their children that remind her of him.

Devey’s professional football career began after playing at Memphis. He joined the NFL with a stint on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad, followed by his time with the Patriots in 2014. During his career, he also played for the San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders, and Buffalo Bills, starting 21 out of 44 games.

Significantly, Jordan Devey remains the only NFL player to have blocked for quarterbacks Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen. He last posted on Instagram on June 1. His sudden death brings an immense loss to his family, friends, and the sporting community.
