Sol Ruca achieved significant success by becoming the women’s intercontinental champion at Clash in Italy. She won the title by defeating Becky Lynch in a rematch. The match was booked by SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis, following their encounter at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
During the previous match, Lynch caused a disqualification by pushing referee Jessica Carr, allowing Ruca to win. However, this did not satisfy either wrestler. Lynch did not feel Ruca had proven herself enough, while Ruca was eager to show her capabilities.
In the championship match, Lynch employed various tactics to unsettle Ruca, including trash-talking and attempting to imitate Ruca’s Sol Snatcher move. Despite this, Ruca maintained her composure and executed a Sol Snatcher towards the end of the match, securing her victory and ending Lynch’s reign.
This triumph marks Ruca’s first major win since joining the main roster. She previously gained attention by defeating Bayley during Saturday Night’s Main Event after being chosen by John Cena to compete. Recognized as a top prospect from NXT, Ruca’s victory signifies her impactful presence in WWE.
Lynch’s reign ended after 43 days. She had claimed the title at WrestleMania 42, becoming the first three-time holder of the women’s intercontinental championship since its inception.
