Two individuals were injured in a shooting incident while riding a CTA bus in the Englewood neighborhood late Wednesday afternoon. The victims, a 57-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman, were located in the 300 block of West 63rd Street when gunfire erupted at approximately 4:40 p.m. The assailant remains unknown.
According to Chicago police reports, the man sustained a gunshot wound to his left flank and is in critical condition. He was taken to UChicago Medicine for urgent care. The woman, also injured in the attack, was shot in her left arm. She was transported to UChicago Medicine, initially listed in fair condition.
Detectives from the Wentworth Area are actively investigating the case to apprehend the suspect involved in this violent act.
