Rural Voters Thinking of Change
In the lead-up to November elections, many rural Americans are contemplating a shift in their voting patterns. Some of these individuals have expressed feeling “betrayed” by current government policies.
McCoy’s Frustration with Beef Imports
Barry McCoy, who operates the Montana Livestock Auction in Ramsay, Montana, is particularly upset. His dissatisfaction stems from President Donald Trump’s decision to increase beef imports into the United States.
Price Drops and Tariff Concerns
McCoy and other ranchers have observed declining cattle prices over the past two months. This trend occurred alongside uncertainties about Trump’s tariff policies.
In August, Trump announced the removal of tariffs on 660 million pounds of international beef, allowing it to be sold at lower prices in US grocery stores. These imports, often referred to as “mystery meat,” are sourced from unknown origins.
