Rosie O’Donnell Criticizes ICE and Trump Administration

Actress Rosie O’Donnell recently sparked controversy by comparing ICE facilities to concentration camps from Nazi Germany. She expressed these views in a TikTok video titled “Friday Ramble.” During the video, she touched on various topics, including the passing of country music icon Dolly Parton, before criticizing the Trump administration.

O’Donnell referenced the Holocaust by stating “We all vowed ‘Never Again,’ remember?” She highlighted that many are shocked by past fascism in Germany and claimed it is reemerging in the U.S. She accused the government of creating concentration camps, rounding up people without warrants, and committing abuses within ICE detention facilities.

O’Donnell’s statements included allegations that detainees are sexually assaulted and questioned the fate of pregnancies resulting from these incidents. This video included a critique of Trump’s presidency, asserting that his policies benefit only “White powerful men” and neglect women. O’Donnell suggested that leaders like Dolly Parton, whom she described as having a heart, should guide the nation.

O’Donnell has consistently criticized Trump, drawing parallels between his administration and Nazi Germany. In prior comments, she urged Americans to resist efforts to silence dissent, equating ICE to a “personal Gestapo.” She questioned what it would take for the U.S. to stand against such actions.

White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis responded by labeling O’Donnell’s comments as “gross.” She cited ICE’s recent arrests of individuals involved in violent crimes, and raised concerns about the safety implications of O’Donnell’s comparisons, noting a dramatic increase in assaults and threats against law enforcement officers.

O’Donnell recently completed a guest-host stint on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show, where she continued her criticism of Trump, referring to him as “orange Voldemort.” Media analyst Joe Concha suggested her behavior reflects “Severe Trump Derangement Syndrome” (STDS), suggesting an obsessive hatred of the president among some segments of the population.
