The media spotlight has intensified on Natalie Harp, a trusted aide to President Donald Trump. This attention followed a viral mention by Sen. Jon Ossoff from Georgia, creating a media buzz surrounding Harp’s role in the White House.
Harp’s involvement at the presidency was highlighted when she was part of a controversial narrative. CNN and MS NOW focused on her after Ossoff’s remarks, emphasizing her loyalty to Trump and her participation in a secretive plane switch with the president. CNN faced criticism for airing an interview with Harp’s estranged brother as part of their coverage.
On Thursday, Alejandra Jaramillo, a CNN White House reporter, posted on social media noting she spotted Harp in the back of the Oval Office. The post, which included a photo of Harp standing quietly as the president addressed reporters, drew a critical reaction from conservatives. They noted that Harp was simply performing her regular duties.
The controversy began when Ossoff implied an inappropriate relationship between Harp and Trump, though he has tried to distance himself from such innuendo. Tim Young of the Heritage Foundation commented that the media’s narrative seemed intentioned to fabricate a scandal involving Harp, despite her merely fulfilling her job responsibilities.
So far, CNN and MS NOW have extensively mentioned Harp since Ossoff’s comment. In response to the situation, the White House referred Fox News Digital to a statement by White House communications director Steven Cheung. Cheung recalled Jaramillo’s prior public criticism of Trump in 2016.
