Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers praised New England Patriots rookie Gabe Jacas after Sunday’s game against the Patriots. Despite the Steelers’ loss, Rodgers highlighted Jacas for his determined performance on the field.

Rodgers expressed his admiration in a video shared by Morey Hershgordon of 7 Boston, saying to Jacas, “Great job, man. You just kept trying to take my head off.” This interaction between the two players was met with humor and recognition.

Gabe Jacas proved his capabilities during the game by securing an interception and applying three quarterback pressures on Rodgers. One of these pressures led to a humorous exchange between them on the field, and the interception marked Jacas’ first in football, dating back to his youth days.

It was just surreal because I never had a pick before in my career,” Jacas commented, expressing his delight in making the interception against Rodgers.

Jacas, a second-round pick, missed a significant part of training camp due to injury and contract discussions, yet performed admirably in the first two weeks of the NFL season. He achieved his first career sack during the season-opener against Seattle, followed by his first interception against Pittsburgh.

Faced with criticism regarding his contract situation from head coach Mike Vrabel, Jacas responded by dedicating himself to a rigorous routine. He arrives at the facility at 6:45 a.m. to practice striking techniques and pass-rush moves with Vrabel before team meetings begin.

Due to recent injuries, the Patriots will rely heavily on Jacas to continue his development. Dre’Mont Jones suffered a shoulder injury on Sunday and was ruled out, while Harold Landry III remains unactivated this season. Alongside sophomore Elijah Ponder and rookie Quintayvious Hutchins, Jacas faces increased pressure to perform and validate his second-round selection.

If Gabe Jacas maintains this trajectory, he could be on track for a standout rookie season with substantial contributions at One Patriot Place.
