NEW YORK (AP) — Rod Stewart will pause his “One Last Time” farewell tour after undergoing a coronary stent procedure. This follows the postponement and cancellation of several shows, as confirmed by his representative.

The singer canceled his Tuesday show at Rocket Arena in Cleveland. This came shortly after postponing a performance at Cincinnati’s Riverbend Music Center on Sunday. The Cincinnati venue originally cited, “an unforeseen but minor medical procedure that required prompt attention.” Earlier this year, Stewart also canceled performances in Las Vegas and San Diego.

A publicist statement shared that, after further medical evaluation, Stewart successfully received a routine coronary stent. Doctors are happy with his recovery, and he has resumed normal daily activities. On medical advice, Stewart will rest for four weeks to regain full health before returning to his tour. As a result, current tour dates are now canceled. Promoters and venues will provide updates regarding affected performances.

Stewart, aged 81, was scheduled for appearances through September 3 in North America. This included a six-night residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and shows in Mexico.

“I’m already feeling better and very much on the mend. I want to thank the doctors, nurses, and everyone who has taken such wonderful care of me,” Stewart expressed in the statement. “I’m deeply disappointed to miss these shows and sorry to let my fans down, but I look forward to getting back on stage and having a good time with you all again soon.”

Stewart, a Grammy Award winner known for his distinctive voice, has sold millions of records throughout his long career. Known for hits like “Maggie May” and “Tonight’s the Night,” he has received two inductions into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
