Riot Fest Adjusts Saturday Schedule Due to Weather Concerns

Riot Fest has announced an early closure for Saturday in response to storm forecasts threatening the Chicago area. At approximately 3:30 p.m., the festival organizers stated, “In cooperation with our partners from the City of Chicago and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our fans, bands, and staff, Riot Fest will be ending early tonight due to inclement weather. For updated schedule and any further changes, please check Riot Fest socials and riotfest.org. Please be safe and watch for more updates.”

Sunday’s events remain scheduled as planned. However, fans on-site experienced delays in receiving the news due to limited cell service. Adjustments to the schedule resulted in shorter, 20-minute performances, affecting anticipated acts like Afroman, and led to the festival’s conclusion around 7 p.m. Tool assumed the headlining slot at 6 p.m.

Bob Mould from Sugar concluded his set with humor, stating, “Who knows who’s up next!”
