Riley Green, a rising star in country music, recently made a foray into acting thanks to a boost from his friend, actor Luke Grimes. During an appearance on ‘CBS Mornings,’ Green shared how Grimes, known for his role in ‘Yellowstone,’ opened the door to his first acting opportunity. Grimes encouraged Green to explore acting, leading to Green securing a role in the CBS series ‘Marshals.’

Green, a 37-year-old from Alabama, described the transition as organic. He and Grimes had been collaborating on music in Nashville when Grimes suggested acting. Green expressed interest, and soon after, found himself reading for a role. He landed the part of Garrett, a former Navy SEAL dealing with PTSD, alongside Grimes in the ‘Yellowstone’ spinoff.

His friendship with Grimes, he said, made the leap into acting less daunting, despite his initial discomfort with the new environment. Green’s path to fame included humble beginnings as a construction worker, framing homes before signing a record deal with Big Machine Label Group in 2018. His gradual success, he feels, allowed him to handle the present spotlight. Initially a construction worker building houses, Green never envisaged his current trajectory, which now includes both music and acting.

Despite his achievements, Green remains connected to his roots. He continues to reside on his Alabama farm, favoring rural life over a lifestyle closer to Hollywood or Nashville. Green stated he never considered moving to Nashville, preferring life on his farm or spending time hunting.
