Ocasio-Cortez addressed the topic, acknowledging the political risk involved in discussing such personal matters publicly. In an ABC interview on ‘This Week,’ she stated that she is still considering potential runs for higher office, including the presidency or a Senate seat, currently held by Chuck Schumer, in 2028.

She emphasized the importance of normalizing conversations around the challenges women face in both professional and personal realms. Ocasio-Cortez highlighted the need to address policy issues under President Donald Trump’s administration, including reproductive care access.

During Trump’s administration, various reproductive rights, including abortion, faced opposition. The Supreme Court’s 2022 ruling overturned Roe v. Wade, eliminating the constitutional right to abortion. However, Trump signed an executive order in 2025 aimed at reducing in vitro fertilization costs.
