Reflecting on a Transformative Career Journey at Fox News

Twenty-two years ago marked a pivotal moment in my career, a time when I took a significant leap. Having spent my early years at The Wall Street Journal and CNBC, I found myself drawn to Fox News, a move that profoundly impacted my life. My gut feeling about belonging here was indeed correct, and for that, I am immensely grateful.

On my first day, Jeff Hark, who handled the scheduling for reporters and anchors, reached out with genuine concern for my family life. As someone with three young children, his understanding of the challenges faced by young professionals was reassuring. Initially defensive, insisting I could manage without burdening him with time-off requests, his sincerity later became clear. This considerate company culture motivated me to work even harder.

Fox News empowered me to embrace new challenges in its dynamic environment. Growth was swift, and opportunities were boundless. During my first year, I eagerly joined the election team for the 2004 presidential race. Ready to report from Boston’s streets, the experience proved invigorating. Working alongside seasoned reporters Carl Cameron and Major Garrett at the Democratic convention was exhilarating and daunting. Yet, it marked the beginning of two decades of election coverage for Fox News.

My role at Fox has taken me around the world, allowing me to cover leaders and events of global significance. An especially memorable experience was walking the Normandy beaches with war veterans, delving into their poignant stories from various conflict areas.

Fox has fostered a profound respect for veterans, a sentiment exceptionally prevalent here. I am truly thankful for the Fox family—including Lachlan, Suzanne, Jay, and others—whose camaraderie feels like home. We are united by a shared love for our country and a commitment to uphold its values, ensuring those in power are accountable.

As Fox News celebrates its 30th anniversary, I reflect on the journey and the profound impact it has had on my life.
