Police Investigate After Remains Found at Missing Couple’s Home

The remains of two individuals were discovered in the backyard of a missing couple’s residence. Their adult son is suspected of involvement and has reportedly left the country, according to Arizona police.

Police were summoned to a house in Litchfield Park for a welfare check concerning three people: a husband, wife, and their son, Matthew Flores, aged 27. This was reported by the Avondale Police Department on Tuesday.

During the welfare check, officers found the house vacant but uncovered evidence pointing to possible foul play. Officer Daniel Benavidez stated in a Thursday news conference that Flores is now a suspect in this ongoing missing persons case.

Benavidez confirmed that Flores has left the country but refrained from sharing additional information about his current location. “I can’t provide details on his whereabouts. What I can confirm is that he fled the country,” Benavidez expressed.

Investigators are yet to identify the remains found in the backyard. When questioned about evidence of foul play, Benavidez commented, “We found a significant amount of blood and evidence indicating attempts to conceal it.”

This situation is ongoing, with updates expected as more information becomes available.
