On Thursday, outages affected OpenAI, Anthropic PBC, and SpaceXAI, leading to disruptions for customers using services from these prominent US AI model makers. Users reported problems, supported by outage-tracking service Downdetector, indicating tens of thousands experienced issues with OpenAI’s services.
OpenAI announced it was investigating increased error rates with its products, including ChatGPT and Codex, a tool for coding. Meanwhile, Anthropic reported that several of its models had recovered from errors. The company is still working to resolve issues with its Opus 4.8 and Opus 5 models.
Elon Musk’s SpaceXAI also faced outages. According to the company status page, its chatbot Grok is encountering similar issues.
