A 32-year-old man from North Carolina, Di-Quan Schafar Hunt, faces allegations of assaulting a woman on a sidewalk in Charlotte and posting videos of the incident on social media. According to records from the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, Hunt has been arrested at least nine times since 2023.
Officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department arrested Hunt after investigating a social media account with videos related to the case. The account contained a video linked to an assault reported on July 30 in the Providence Division’s 400 block of East Boulevard. The video showed the suspect punching the woman before escaping the scene.
Hunt was taken to a medical facility for treatment following his arrest. Police then planned to transfer him to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, charging him with assault with a deadly weapon.
The victim required hospitalization but her injuries were not life-threatening. Reviewing videos from the social media account, Fox News Digital identified footage featuring a woman being chased and seeking refuge behind a vehicle. A comment on the account stated, “Ahhhh feels GOOD!!!” Another clip showed the cameraman confronting a woman before the sound of a punch, then taunting and appearing to strike her again while she lay on the ground.
Authorities have not confirmed if these videos are linked to the July 30 assault, nor have they identified the women in the footage. The investigation is still ongoing, and police urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
Hunt’s arrest record includes more than just this assault charge. He was most recently arrested in December 2025 on charges such as assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. Previous charges include a September 2025 simple-assault and a March 2025 assault on a female. In 2024, Hunt faced accusations of violating a domestic-violence protective order and other crimes. Additionally, he has at least six misdemeanor convictions on record.
The current investigation continues as police examine available evidence. They remind the public that charges are not convictions, and investigation outcomes remain pending.
