A mountain lion found resting on a sidewalk under a tree created a stir in San Dimas, effectively closing a street as wildlife officials rushed to address the situation. On Friday afternoon, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s San Dimas Station shared details on Instagram, noting sightings of the big cat along Foothill Boulevard, between San Dimas Avenue and San Dimas Canyon Road.

Authorities advised locals to steer clear of the area, safely secure their pets, and remove outdoor food sources that might attract the lion. The message also urged vigilance from runners, pedestrians, and residents.

Cort Klopping, public information officer for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, confirmed that reports were received and officials were promptly responding to manage the wildlife concern.
