Kelsey Mitchell scored 20 of her 28 points in the first half, guiding the Indiana Fever to a 106-92 win over the New York Liberty. Caitlin Clark added 22 points and 10 assists. The Fever have won seven of their last nine games.

Indiana’s coach, Stephanie White, made a passionate pregame speech. Her comments addressed distractions she feels have overshadowed the WNBA. This inspired the Fever to shoot 59% from the field and 79% from 3-point range, securing a 64-46 halftime lead. Unlike their previous game against Las Vegas, they kept their double-digit lead.

Mitchell shot 11 of 16 from the field. Clark and Sophie Cunningham each made four 3-pointers. Cunningham scored 12 points while Aliyah Boston added 19 points and seven rebounds. Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu each scored 19 points for the Liberty. Jonquel Jones contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Indiana took charge with a 15-7 run late in the second quarter, increasing their lead to 54-37. When their 3-pointers were missing in the third quarter, New York reduced the deficit to 66-57. However, Mitchell and Cunningham’s key plays in the final minute of the third period extended the lead to 87-67. Indiana maintained their advantage and never looked back.
