Man Fatally Shot After Altercation in West Pullman

A man lost his life following a verbal dispute that escalated into violence in West Pullman on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred on the 11500 block of South Halsted Avenue when the 33-year-old was shot in the chest at around 4:30 p.m., according to police reports.

The man, identified as Davion L. Jackson from Chicago Lawn, was involved in an argument with a group when the shooting took place. After being shot, he was transported to Roseland Community Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, as stated by the police.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed his identity, and an autopsy has been scheduled for the following day. As of the report, Calumet Area detectives were actively investigating the incident, but no information about the shooter had been released.
