A teacher from Graves County Middle School in Mayfield, Kentucky, is confronting serious charges following allegations of an improper relationship with a student. Sadie M. Flores, 25, has been accused by authorities of crossing the line from inappropriate conduct to criminal behavior.

Flores, arrested on Friday, faces a Class D felony charge for grooming a minor. This charge arose under a Kentucky law that became effective on July 15. The law targets individuals who cultivate inappropriate relationships with minors before any sexual abuse occurs.

The allegations first surfaced within the school district, leading school administrators to promptly notify law enforcement, triggering a criminal investigation by the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation involved examining electronic records and conducting interviews. Authorities questioned Flores on the day of her arrest and later took her into custody at 3:30 p.m. Initially held at the Graves County Restricted Custody Center, Flores was transferred to another detention facility outside the county.
