Kellan Lutz recently shared that he relocated from California to Tennessee three years ago, driven by the pandemic’s impact. In an interview on “Inside of You” with Michael Rosenbaum, he mentioned his affection for California. However, the move coincided with the birth of their second child.

The “Twilight” actor and his wife, Brittany Lutz, departed from Orange County, where Brittany grew up. Although she hopes to one day return or live bi-coastally, post-COVID circumstances prompted their relocation. Many people left California during this period in search of tranquility, especially after losing jobs.

Kellan’s wife’s family also relocated from California, seeking support from nearby relatives. He explained how important it was for Brittany to have a support system when he is away for work and she’s managing their children alone.

They settled in Tennessee, acquiring land surrounded by a caring community, Bible studies, and churches. The move was initially prompted by their child’s health issues, making Brittany feel that a change was necessary. “Can we move?” she asked, and Kellan agreed without hesitation.

He noted that his experience is common among new parents, especially mothers wanting proximity to their family for assistance. Lutz and his family, including fellow fathers, have emphasized this need.

Kellan said that the transition to Tennessee, particularly Franklin, has been positive. He noticed a vibrant social scene there, attending more movie premieres than he had in Los Angeles.

However, he acknowledged certain lifestyle adjustments. The challenge of adapting to different weather patterns, like tornadoes, stands out. His wife stays vigilant, especially with children. They also miss certain aspects of California life, such as quality sushi and Mexican cuisine.
