On the challenges faced, Navarro spoke about his fear of heights, which added another layer of difficulty as he attempted to climb the pillar and reach the rope to claim the title. “This Ultimate X was more special than the one at Rebellion last year,” Navarro shared with Fox News Digital. “I’m not a big fan of heights. It takes me time to climb and plan my move.”
While discussing the significance of the match, Navarro highlighted the importance of wrestling with Amazing Red. “Amazing Red has been a major mentor throughout my career,” Navarro explained. “Witnessing his first match back and sharing the ring with him was incredibly special for me.” Navarro acknowledged how grateful he was for the shared moment, hoping Amazing Red makes another return.
Looking back at the previous year’s Slammiversary, Navarro reflected on competing with a torn ACL in a challenging ladder match against teams like The Hardys, The Nemeths, and The Rascalz. This year, he returned with a renewed confidence and a healed knee, despite the inherent risks of the Ultimate X match.
Navarro saw the opportunity to compete for the prestigious X Division title as a great honor. Sharing the ring with talented wrestlers like Leon Slater, Fabian Aichner, Mr. Elegance, and Frankie Kazarian made for a highly competitive contest. Despite the dangers, Navarro deeply appreciated being part of such a stacked match.
Addressing his struggles with heights, Navarro remarked, “It’s part of the job. Injuries sparked my fear, making me think, ‘What if I get hurt again?’ I rely on adrenaline. Once the bell rings, my focus shifts to winning that belt.” He emphasized the importance of staying positive and believing he will walk out healthy and maybe victorious.
Currently, Navarro is in a feud with TNA world champion Nic Nemeth. Successfully navigating this rivalry may soon place him at the top of the roster once more.
