Kai Trump, granddaughter of former President Donald Trump, recently shared her unexpected choice for “song of the year.” In a video on her YouTube channel and TikTok, the 19-year-old admitted she was unprepared when asked to select a song that symbolized her past year. She finally decided on Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.” Laughing, Kai said, “I don’t know, that was like the only song that came up, like came to my head.”

Rolling in the Deep was released in 2010 as the lead single from Adele’s second album, “21.” It marked Adele’s breakthrough, topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart for seven weeks and achieving chart success in more than a dozen countries. The track earned three Grammy Awards in 2012, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Short Form Music Video. It played a significant role in making Adele a global star, alongside her other hits like “Someone Like You” and “Hello.”

Kai had previously cited “Rolling in the Deep” as a favorite. In March, she mentioned it during an “Ask Me Anything” session on her YouTube channel. In addition to Adele’s track, her top picks included “November Rain” by Guns N’ Roses, and “House of Balloons” and “Wicked Games” by The Weeknd. Kai shared her love for The Weeknd, adding “After Party” to her list.

Kai often shares her preferences with fans through social media Q&As and interviews. She discussed her new celebrity crush with Fox News Digital, moving on from “Outer Banks” star Drew Starkey in 2024 to actor Theo James. Expressing admiration for James, she said, “He’s very attractive.”

Two years earlier, Kai revealed her celebrity crush on her YouTube channel in a “Get to know me better…Q&A” session. She chose Starkey from “Outer Banks,” joking, “I’m gonna blush right now!” Her cheeks reddened as she fanned herself.
