Recently released dispatch audio brings additional context to an alleged domestic violence incident involving Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs. The audio, obtained by TMJ 4, includes a dispatcher communicating with a police officer. The dispatcher reported ‘yelling and screaming’ audible from an open line inside Jacobs’ Wisconsin residence.
Things being thrown, open line,
the dispatcher informed the officer. Possibly a male and female.
A second call’s audio was included, where a dispatcher described a neighbor’s report of the disturbance from Jacobs’ home. The neighbor is calling now, saying that her neighbor was assaulted,
the dispatcher noted.
Upon police arrival, Jacobs had left his residence in a Mercedes G-Wagon. Authorities tracked it using license plate readers and issued a call to stop the vehicle if seen.
Jacobs was arrested on Tuesday following an investigation by the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department. He faces five domestic abuse-related charges. The charges include domestic abuse battery, domestic abuse criminal damage to property, domestic abuse disorderly conduct, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim. According to records from Brown County Jail, strangulation and suffocation is classified as a felony. The remaining charges are misdemeanors.
Jacobs’ attorneys, David Z. Chesnoff and Clarence Duchac, assert that Jacobs denies all allegations. Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public,
their statement read. We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course.
The NFL has been notified of the situation and has reached out to the Packers. Green Bay has refrained from commenting due to the ongoing investigation.
Jacobs concluded his second season with the Packers, accumulating 929 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. In the previous 2024 season, he gained 1,329 yards and scored 15 touchdowns, leading the Packers’ ground attack. Before his tenure with Green Bay, Jacobs spent five seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders. In 2022, he led the league with 1,653 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns over a full 17-game schedule.
