Jerry Rice, an NFL Hall of Famer, took swift action against a heckler during the American Century Championship. At Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in South Lake Tahoe, the legendary San Francisco 49ers player faced off with a fan who taunted him.

Rice was participating alongside sports icons such as Aaron Rodgers, Charles Barkley, and Tony Romo. At 63 years old, Rice finished 42nd out of 90 competitors in the tournament.

During the first round, while standing in the third tee box, Rice endured a fan’s mocking yell of “Fore!” after a tee shot. Reacting quickly, Rice responded with a firm “Hey! Yo! Hey! Hey!” and charged into the gallery, golf club in hand. He demanded to know, “Which one? Which one?!” as he closed the distance with the same speed that marked his NFL career.

A nearby fan identified the heckler, shouting “Green and blue!” Rice approached the person, who quickly toned down their attitude. The situation calmed soon after, allowing Rice to return to the tee box, receiving applause from the crowd.

This wasn’t Rice’s first intense moment at Edgewood Tahoe. The previous year, he had a tense exchange with reporters over questions he perceived as digs at his 49ers.

One fan’s comment about the incident summed up the situation well: “Don’t poke the bear!” Rice shared a lighthearted moment with Annika Sorenstam later, indicating no lingering tension.
