However, the Fever regained their rhythm, with Mitchell earning a three-point play and Cunningham sinking a three-pointer in the period’s final moments, which expanded their lead to 87-67.

Before the game, coach Stephanie White addressed criticism over her reaction to a flagrant foul involving DiJonai Carrington and Sophie Cunningham. She implored audiences to prioritize the sport over distractions. “The hate, the fearmongering, the divisiveness that’s trying to hijack our league will not win,” White declared passionately. “We are united. We are connected. We will not be divided. Every day these women put their effort on the line. When they stoop low, we rise higher. Love will win. Grace will win. Humility will win and kindness will win. I stand by them, I will always stand by them.” Shortly after delivering these powerful words, White exited without fielding questions.
