Indiana Fever Secure Strong Victory Against Minnesota Lynx

The Indiana Fever bounced back from a tough loss, securing a 96–77 win over the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday. This marked their last regular-season game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The absence of Minnesota’s rookie star, Olivia Miles, due to a calf injury, played a role in the Fever’s success. They capitalized with a 23-point lead by halftime, the largest deficit faced by the Lynx this season.

Indiana’s starters delivered a strong performance, while Minnesota found some rhythm in the third quarter through their reserves. Caitlin Clark led the Fever with 27 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists, just missing a triple-double. Sophie Cunningham, stepping up after limited playtime in the previous game, contributed significantly to the team’s performance.

Indiana’s ‘Big 3’ of Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell combined for 67 points. Mitchell continued her impressive streak by scoring 20 or more points in her 27th consecutive game.

“I thought our third quarter was a bit sloppy,”

Caitlin Clark commented after the game. She acknowledged the efforts of the Lynx’s bench but praised her team’s overall offensive pace and strategy.

The victory was a morale boost for the Fever ahead of the playoffs, keeping their pursuit for a first-round home-court advantage alive. The Fever face the Lynx again on Thursday in Minnesota.
