Indiana Farm’s Tribute Corn Maze Faces Criticism

An Indiana family farm, known as Global Farms, faced controversy after showcasing a substantial corn maze dedicated to Charlie Kirk. Despite facing backlash, the farm stands firm on its decision, expressing no regret and an unwavering willingness to repeat the tribute.

Manager’s Insight

Jeremy Goebel, the manager at Global Farms, clarified that the intention behind the maze was purely to honor Kirk, who is celebrated for his advocacy of open debate and free speech. He emphasized that the criticism wasn’t directed at the farm itself but rather towards Charlie Kirk’s legacy.

“Absolutely, we would absolutely do it again,” Goebel stated. “People have issues with what Charlie stood for, not with us.”

Backlash and Reviews

The backlash began instantly after the maze announcement. Critics, including some former customers, reacted with one-star reviews opposing the tribute.

“On the first day of the announcement, we began receiving one-star reviews, sometimes from people who had previously supported us. They opposed the corn maze and labeled our actions as deceptive,” Goebel explained.

Charlie Kirk’s Tragic Assassination

Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was tragically assassinated on September 10, 2025, during an event in Utah. His death sparked debate and controversy, leading to mixed reactions to the farm’s tribute.

Mixed Responses

Goebel noted that, despite the negative reviews, positive feedback also poured in globally, showing support from places like South Africa and Australia.

“Over the past few days, we’ve received substantial positive support, countering the initial backlash. Our intent was never divisive; it was simply a remembrance of Charlie,” he added.

The Call for Better Dialogue

Reflecting on the situation, Goebel emphasized the importance of listening to diverse perspectives.

“Part of what makes America great is the ability to challenge ideas and learn from differing viewpoints. Progress often stems from dialogue and understanding,” Goebel told Fox News Digital.

Fox News Digital also contacted Google for their perspective on the review situation. Rachel del Guidice is a culture reporter at Fox News, focusing on the interplay of politics, faith, family, and American culture.
