Halle Berry is taking time for relaxation and reflection as she approaches her 60th birthday. In a series of Instagram posts, she shares moments from a tropical Fiji retreat. In one photo, she stands beside the ocean in an animal-print cover-up over a black lace bodysuit, the sunset highlighting her smile.
Another image shows Berry in silhouette, enveloped by sheer fabric on a daybed, with the sun casting its glow. Surrounding her are palm trees and an infinity pool. The serene ambiance extends to pictures of her in a gold bikini by the pool, a straw hat resting on her body. She captures her relaxed mood in a reflection through a glass window, appearing inside a bathtub with the ocean and trees in the backdrop.
Berry humorously remarks on her laid-back trip with a caption about enjoying an evening drink, admitting, “We got drunk last night, and still drunk today.” Her getaway precedes her milestone birthday and a shift in how she perceives aging.
In a July discussion with Hoda Kotb on the “Making Space” podcast, Berry reflected on reaching 60. “I’m so happy to still be here,” she expressed, comparing her youthful expectations of age with her current experience. “60 doesn’t feel old at all,” she asserted, recognizing a sense of rejuvenation and self-awareness.
Berry notes a newfound confidence that has emerged with age. “I feel really great,” she shared, adding that aging has helped her shed concerns about meeting others’ expectations. “You do stop managing everybody’s expectations,” she told Kotb. “You get to do what you wanna do.”
The star addressed assumptions about her career following this milestone. Asked if she plans to continue in movies, Berry firmly responded, “Why should I not?” She rejected notions of sitting idle, emphasizing that meaningful work remains vital for connection and fulfillment.
Berry encourages her daughter, Nahla, to engage in work she loves, believing retirement should not be the ultimate goal. “Choose what you love,” she advised, “so that you never feel like you want to retire.” According to Berry, staying active sustains youth and prolongs engagement with life.
