Gov. Ron DeSantis Criticizes Dr. Fauci: Calls for Accountability

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently expressed his disapproval of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic during a Senate hearing. DeSantis shared his views on ‘Jesse Watters Primetime,’ highlighting significant moments from the testimony.

State-Level Investigations into Fauci’s Conduct

Officials in Alabama and Florida plan to investigate Dr. Fauci to assess if he can be held accountable under state law for the alleged maladministration of the pandemic response. He invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination 111 times during the hearing.

Senator Josh Hawley pointed out that a federal pardon by former President Joe Biden might eliminate Fauci’s federal criminal exposure but does not affect potential state-level charges. Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama reinforced this stance, promising to explore ways to hold Fauci accountable if he becomes governor. Tuberville urged Alabama residents to pursue civil claims against Fauci.

Florida’s Legal Examination

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier confirmed that all potential violations of Florida law would be scrutinized. The inquiry will focus on what Fauci knew and when, assessing the repercussions on Floridians. Lt. Governor Jay Collins supports this investigation, emphasizing the necessity of accountability for the effects on families and businesses.

Collins, a disabled veteran, criticized the enforced COVID-19 immunization for accessing Veterans Affairs services, attributing nationwide business losses to Fauci’s directives. He expressed pride in sustaining criticism from Fauci, viewing it as a testament to Florida’s resistance during the pandemic.

Political Stances

Governor DeSantis has called Fauci the “most destructive bureaucrat” in U.S. history. Contrasting Florida’s response, California’s leadership complied with Fauci’s recommendations. Republican gubernatorial nominee Steve Hilton plans to establish a COVID Accountability Commission in California, similar to the initiatives in the Deep South, if elected. Hilton aims to investigate the impact of pandemic policies on the state.

Fox News has reached out to Dr. Fauci for comments but received no response. DeSantis’ office directed media inquiries to his previously stated remarks.
