Gordon Ramsay, often recognized as a formidable chef on television, emphasizes a crucial rule at home unrelated to culinary skills. The renowned ‘MasterChef’ icon, who has six children with his wife Tana Ramsay, shared the importance of manners during the FOX Upfront 2026 event. He believes the greatest lesson for his children transcends cooking skills, focusing instead on basic respect.
The most vital lesson I’ve imparted is manners. They’re invaluable in life and cost nothing.
Ramsay told Fox News Digital.
Tana and Gordon have six children: Megan, born in 1998; twins Jack and Holly, born in 1999; Matilda, often called ‘Tilly,’ born in 2001; Oscar, born in 2019; and Jesse, born in 2023. Regardless of their diverse paths, be it military service, academic pursuits, or public spotlight, Ramsay insists on the importance of manners.
Despite his vast empire covering restaurants and varied media platforms, Ramsay is determined to prevent entitlement from infiltrating his family life.
Tana reflects positively on their upbringing in large families, citing it as insightful in handling their responsibilities to six children. She shared, I’m one of four, Gordon’s one of four, so it’s second nature.
Ramsay also speaks candidly about kitchen errors that test his patience. Responding to Fox News Digital, he highlighted a recurring seasoning mistake among aspiring chefs.
The mistakes stem from thinking seasoning should occur at the end. One must season gradually throughout the cooking process for optimal flavor.
The chef remains engaged with competition shows despite his tenure, animated both by chaos and the dynamics between social media personalities, hobbyists, and professionals. He finds excitement in the unpredictable: Cooking is challenging, and improvisation with unfamiliar ingredients heightens the thrill.
FOX continues to support Ramsay’s endeavors, renewing shows like ‘Kitchen Nightmares,’ ‘Hell’s Kitchen,’ ‘Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service,’ ‘Next Level Baker,’ and ‘Next Level Chef.’
