Good Good Golf Apologizes for Controversial Advertisement

Content creator Good Good Golf, now a title sponsor for a new PGA Tour event this fall, found itself in controversy over a recently deleted advertisement. The video featured a man, Garrett Clark, shoving a woman, Alexis Miestowski, as she reached for his new Callaway driver. This portrayal of violence stirred significant criticism on social media. Despite the video being removed by both Good Good and Callaway, clips continued to circulate online.

Both companies addressed the situation over the weekend. Good Good released a statement on social media apologizing and acknowledging that the video’s actions did not align with their brand values. They emphasized their commitment to making golf more inclusive. Good Good Golf, initially launched as a YouTube channel in 2020, has grown into one of the sport’s leading content creators, featuring a blend of male and female participants in various golfing challenges. Their brand now includes made-for-TV shows, apparel, and other merchandise.

Callaway Golf, which partnered with Good Good in 2023, also expressed disappointment in the advertisement’s content. They appreciated Good Good’s prompt response and reiterated their dedication to fostering inclusivity in golf.

Furthermore, the PGA Tour, which has been increasingly collaborating with content creators, including Good Good, also commented on the incident. In a statement, the PGA Tour reaffirmed golf’s potential to unite people and create a respectful, welcoming environment, explicitly noting their non-tolerance for violence.

Good Good’s partnership with the PGA Tour includes the Good Good Championship, a part of the FedEx Cup Fall, to be held in Austin, Texas, from November 12-15.
