Flight Halts at Reagan National for Independence Day Celebrations

Reagan National Airport will cease flights for much of July 4 to facilitate aerial displays and fireworks in celebration of the United States’ 250th Independence Day anniversary. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) announced that no departures are planned at the airport after midday on July 4.

In addition, flights at Reagan National will also experience a pause for several hours early in the afternoon on July 3, as part of the preparations. These changes aim to ensure safety and enhance the aerial events scheduled during this time.

Authorities have urged travelers to verify flight schedules, especially those near other events commemorating the 250th anniversary throughout the summer.
