Footage obtained shows federal agents executing raids as part of a Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation. This sweep related to election fraud resulted in charges against individuals across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Wisconsin for illegal voting and falsifying citizenship.
The charges are part of a campaign by the Trump administration to identify election crimes ahead of the 2026 midterms. Over the last year, the DOJ has filed lawsuits against nearly 30 states to access confidential voter rolls. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), previously focused on cartels and terrorism, now leads a search for unlawfully registered non-citizens.
“Evidence of non-citizens registering to vote continues to mount,” stated White House spokesperson Lauren Bis. “Non-citizens found voting will be held accountable.”
The DOJ announced charges against five individuals, including two illegal immigrants and two legal non-citizens. They face accusations of unlawful voting, falsifying citizenship, and voter registration fraud during the 2022 and 2024 elections. A DOJ release stated that the accused might receive lengthy prison sentences if convicted.
Among those charged is Katya Rodriguez, 30, an illegal immigrant from Mexico residing in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She was indicted for illegally voting in the 2024 election and faces charges including providing a false statement of citizenship. Rodriguez might face up to 11 years in prison, supervised release, and fines.
Recent enforcement action follows a disclosure by New Jersey officials of a software error registering nearly 6,600 non-citizens to vote. Of these, nearly 400 cast ballots. Homeland Security’s audit identified more than 250,000 registered noncitizens in California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Nevada.
Homeland Security Investigations is investigating unlawful voting in nine key states, including Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. These efforts led to the recent arrests announced.
“Ensuring the integrity of elections is vital,” said HSI Acting Executive Associate Director John A. Condon. “Our investigations aim to reinforce public trust and uphold the rule of law.”
